For speaking skill I use three technologies (www.youtube.com, movie maker, and www.wordpress.com)

Description of the Project

Youtube is a website allows people to watch video, share, and download any kinds of video that they want, for instance musics video, movie, tutorial, and advertisement. Meanwhile Movie maker is the video editing programs that allows people to quickly make a movie that incorporates video, still image, background music, and narration. For me as a teacher in the future, I would like to use youtube and movie maker to teach students about narrative text in Senior High School first grade in speaking skill. How I develop my material teaching through this tool ?. First I open website http://www.youtube.com . Next, I search video about narrative that suitable for my class. I find two video that I want and download it. The video are The And and The dove and The Three liltle Pigs . After that I use movie maker to combine two videos and edit it to be interest. The video will upload in my ziddu account and I copy the link my blog.  The video as students assignment. I will use these technology as weekly assignment for my students

The Learning Dinamic

First teacher greeting her students. She ask student what is the narrative story that they have ever read. Ask them what is their opinion about the story. Next, teacher start to explain the definition of narrative text. Teacher and students discuss about the famous legend in Indonesia, that is Malin Kundang. Teacher ask some studens to mention who is the characters in the story, setting, place and time. Teacher and students discuss it together. After that, teacher ask students to hear their opinion about the story in front of class. Teacher add her opinion and give explanation to students. Because school provide the limited time, so teacher can not hear all students opinion about the story. So that’s way in the end of meeting, teacher tell students that she give them assignment to improve their speaking skill. Teacher will give student a video that contain two story. Student must watch the video and give their opinion about the story in video after they watch it. Teacher asks students to record the voice. The minimum duration of audio is two minutes. And student upload their audio in 4shared and sent a link in teacher’s email. Teacher will upload the video in her blog and students must download it.

Third Meeting (Writing Skill)

Youtube is a website allows people to watch video, share, and download any kinds of video that they want, for instance musics video, movie, tutorial, and advertisement. For me as a teacher in the future, I would like to use youtube to teach students about narrative text in Senior High School first grade in writing skill. How I develop my material teaching through this tool ). First I open website http://www.youtube.com . Next, I search video about narrative that suitable for my class. I find three video that I want and download it. The video are The Monkey and The Crocodile, True friends, and The Lion and The mouse. One video is about The Monkey and The Crocodile as a teaching material in the class and two video as students assignment.

 

The Learning Dinamic

First, I make a list of types of narrative text ( legend, fairy tales, fable and myths). Next, I ask students about what their favorite cartoons film. Ask them to raise their hands and mention it. Then, I will show a short video which will be presented in front of class. The video will play twice. Before student watch it, I tell them that they must make short story in one paragraph about the video after the watch it. I give them 20 minutes to write . Then, teacher and students discuss it and students ask teacher about the story on video to get detail information and more understand about the topic. Teacher add explanation about narrative text. In the and of class, teacher ask students to make small group consist of two members. There are two video. Every member of group will get different video each other. Before student watch it, I tell them that they should complete the story map that contain of main characters, setting, vocabulary , problem, and solution when they are watching and write short story in one paragraph about the video. After they make the task they must check their task with their member of group. The last,teacher asks some group to convey it in front of class in the next meeting. I have  already copied the link of video in youtube for students assignment in my blog. I will give link of my blog in group class in facebook.

British Council

British council is one of the best website on the internet for the learners and students who want to improve their English skills. And also for teacher as learning tools, because it is provide a lot of teaching materials to teach whatever level of students and based on their skill. So that, I would like to use British Council as a teaching material to teach Senior High School students at fisrt grade in reading skill. First I open the website www.BristishCouncil.com. Next I choose English For Teens in reading skill. Teacher download two material on British Council . One is an article as teaching material in the class. The other is an article a brochure as students homework.

The Learning Dinamic

First, teacher write the tittle of an article on the board and ask the student where the text is from (a book, magazine, article, or newspaper )?. Students think of as many words as possible connected with the tittle and write on the board. Next, teacher give each students a piece of paper about the article and ask student to read quickly in silence. After that, students choose seven new words from a text that they has just read. Students compare and discuss their seven words in pairs. Then, teacher and students discuss the topic of article. In the end, teacher give an exercise that divided into three parts which to know students comprehence about the contain of magazine. First exercise is ordering with number (1-7), second is true- false, third is multiple choice and the last is discuusion . For the students homeworks is a brochure. In brochure, there is preparation which students match the picture with the correct word that available. Next exercise is grouping, multiple choice and discussion. It has I have already post an exercise my blog and I will give link for students in group class in facebook. Student should download it and answer the question. It will submit in the next meeting.

From text to speech

From text to speech is one the best website to make teachers easier when they develop their teaching material. As a teacher I would like to use this application to teach Sunior High School students at first grade as one of the tasks about descriptive text in listening skill. It is about describe people. How I develop my material through this tool ?. First, I make three descriptive text about people. Then I open this tool (www.fromtexttospeech.com). Next, I copy three text in one by one in the website . Because these record for Sunior High School students at first grade and I choose language is US language, select voice is Alice , speed is medium and it has purpose to make students easier when they listen the record and get points. The last I download it and save it in my ziddu account, if students want to hear the record they should download in my ziddu account.

Before teacher explain the topic, she has already made records. The record consist of three descriptive text about people. It is for student’s assignment which it used to know student’s comprehension about topic . First, teacher show a picture to students. The picture is Justin Beiber. She and her students identify the picture as together. She ask student to write in white board about characteristics of picture. Next, teacher give student its text. She explains about generic structure until clear and they together determine generic structure in text. After that, she asks them to hear a record in teacher’s blog which she will give a link in group class in facebook. . They must complete a diagram completion task based on the record. The last,teacher asks some students to demonstration it in front of class next meeting.
